I took a poll questioning which NFL team will win Super bowl LIII which will take place in February of 2019. At the time that I took the poll, 400 plus people had already taken it. I wanted to use a poll with a large sample size as that gives us the best chance to avoid error or biases. My vote for which team would win was given to the St. Louis Rams. I picked them because I believe they have the best chance to win it, not because I favor them to the other teams. There were 14 teams to choose from and then an additional “other” option. I found the results fairly interesting because it seemed as if teams that are unlikely to win the super bowl still had a high percentage of votes. This must have been due to the fact that some teams have much larger fan bases than others, and those teams often got more votes. The Dallas cowboys for example have an extremely large fan base and that explains why they received 5.4% of votes. My favorite team is the New York Jets and realistically if they had been an option I probably would have voted for them even though I do not think they have a reasonable chance to win. Polls about sports Generally do have biases like this and thus it is quite difficult to get completely accurate results.
