| Checking out the book at bird |

This is me when I first found the book

| Opening the book to read it for the first time |
Back in Elementary school going to the local library was
almost an everyday occurrence for my friends and I. Realistically, it did not
really have anything to do with the physical books they had. Sure, we had to
make the occasional trip there to check out a book for school but most the time
we just went there to hangout. At this time, none of us young kids had access
to a phone or computer at home, and the library was the only place that we
could freely use one. We would all go and sit around the desktops that the
library had set up and just play games on there or do whatever kids at that age
did. Back in the late 2000s, the library actually had people somewhat regularly
coming in to read or check out books. Unfortunately, I’m sure this is no longer
the case. Technology has completely changed the way people read books. There is
no need for a physical copy of the book when you can download the exact same book
on your phone, IPad, kindle or whatever device you choose. Or, if one still
wants the physical copy of the book they can order or rent a copy on a site
like Amazon and have it delivered in a matter of days. It seems as if Library’s
are well on their way to extinction and it is only a matter of time until they
are a thing of the past. This assignment was neat in the fact that it got me to check out a book from a library in probably the first time in ten years.
